It’s not ideal we won’t have Callum McGregor for the League Cup quarter-final against Raith Rovers on Thursday but in other injury news, two long term injured Celts are set for a training return shortly!

Ange Postecoglou sat down with the mainstream media this afternoon ahead of the Raith Rovers tie and was asked about the injury status of his squad.

Former Celtic staff member who now works for Go Radio, Jo Hendry gave us the lowdown on James Forrest and Christopher Jullien.

James was fit at the start of the season after missing most of last term, he then fell to another injury and has been out for most of our fixtures this term so far. The winger has struggled to stay fit and will be hoping he can sustain a level of fitness once he returns.

Christopher Jullien’s last game for Celtic was against Dundee Utd on December 26. The player collided with the post and damaged his knee badly. The Frenchman needed surgery and has been in rehab for the better part of a year. Getting on the training field will be the final big step before getting game time.

The international break is at the start of October – so we can expect to see both at Lennoxtown in mid-October.
