Celtic signed Josip Juranovic less than twelve months ago, yet, he’s attracting the attention of many top clubs around the world.

With a host of Premier League clubs interested in the versatile full-back, Athletico Madrid joined the numerous interested clubs. [Fabrizo Romano] However, a move to the Spanish capital may not be straightforward.

The president of the club has admitted that their finances don’t allow the La Liga runners-up to purchase players. To do so, they’ll need to offload players already at the club, which could take some time.

Enrique Cerezo hasn’t fully calmed the Celtic support’s nerves, admitting that Diego Simeone is in the market for a right-back. However, he conceded that this summer will be tricky given their financial situation. [AS.com]

“I think that in order to sign we all need to sell. We’ll see who it’s sold to and who it’s bought from.

“Well, the midfield we already have. It is Witsel, which as you all know is practically done, and the right-side we are looking for it.”

Celtic’s Position Doesn’t Change.

Celtic is the stronger out of all the parties involved. With Juranovic tied down to a long-term deal, they hold the cards in the negotiations and do not need to sell the player.

Juranovic is thought to be happy at Celtic; he’s received great opportunities and is about to perform at Europe’s top stage before jetting off to the World Cup.

Celtic will demand a considerable fee for the Croatian’s services, maybe even a record-breaking amount. It’s looking likely that the Spanish side could be priced out of a deal.
