There has been a wealth of speculation surrounding Celtic’s Liel Abada in recent times with it looking likely Ange Postecoglou’s first marquee signing in Glasgow could be on his way out soon.

Ajax were named as potential suitors recently however yet another team has emerged in the chase in Benfica.

According to Sports Journalist Nicolo Schira who has over 270,000 followers on Twitter, Benfica, as well as Ajax, are interested in Abada:

A move to either of these sides would not even take Abada to a top 5 European league although it would be an encouraging step for the 21 year old.

Benfica were just recently knocked out of the Champions League quarter finals meanwhile Ajax sit second in the Eredivisie and got to the Europa League knockout play off round.

Despite limited starts, Abada has 12 goals and seven assists in all competitions for the Hoops this season and has been a vastly promising talent throughout his time at the club.

Benfica won’t be the last team to be noted as a potential suitor for the young Israeli with there assuredly being a large number of clubs aware of Abada heading into the summer.
