Brendan Rodgers has spoken of the important part the Celtic home support played in his side’s 7-1 win over Dundee.

With the Hoops rampant for the majority of the game, the Irishman can be proud of the performance the team put in on a rainy Wednesday night under the lights at Celtic Park.

Rodgers said [Celtic TV], “I think it’s a big congratulations for the supporters because we’re here to entertain them but we need their backing and encouragement.

“And like you say at halftime, it filled us with great pride at the support that we got.

“So yeah, a Wednesday night, full house. It was it was great.”

Rodgers, who for the first time at Celtic, has been up against criticism of his side’s style of play this season, has been able to use that siege mentality within the squad to hit back in sensational fashion tonight.

With only 10 league games remaining, if the Hoops can play like they did against Dundee for the rest of the season, they will take some stopping.
