CELTIC are looking to bring in at least 2 new players by the end of January.

One player that has caught the eye of Ronny Deila and his backroom staff is young Stuart Armstrong of Dundee Utd.

The 22 year old has been a consistent and talented performer for the Tannadice outfit and it’s no surprise it’s not just Celtic who are after him. The interest from down south is very much there for the midfielder with the likes of West Brom and a host of Championship sides looking at him.

Celtic have been asked to be kept informed of Armstrong’s situation. There have been players in the not so distant past who Celtic have passed up from Dundee Utd. The likes of Johnny Russell and Andrew Robertson have headed south. There were even calls at one time to sign Gary Mckay Stevens but nothing came of it, although the player is now in the last 6 months of his contract in Dundee.

It remains to be seen if Celtic will pass up another Scottish talent in Armstrong. When asked about the player Celtic captain Scott Brown was full of praise for the young central midfielder.

‘He understands that you’ve got to show some respect but when he goes on the park he wants to win games as well. I love that about players. He works hard and wants to win games. You get disappointed if you don’t. He’s one of those lads”

Could they soon be part of a midfield pairing….
