Celtic have looked to tie a number of their young stars down to new deals in recent weeks and 18 year old Mitchell Robertson is the next to be added to the list.

Robertson has broke into Celtic’s B side this campaign, making  28 appearances across all competitions including five in the UEFA Youth League where he gained some vital experience at a top level for his age.

The Scotland under 19 international signed a new contract that will keep him at Celtic until at least 2025:

Robertson is a left footed defender who can play at both left and centre back.

He is highly rated at Lennoxtown upon signing his new deal, Robertson told official club media:

“I’m delighted. I joined the club in 2020, and it’s been a great experience so far.

“I’ve still got loads to progress on and learn, but my time here has been brilliant so far and I’m thrilled to extend my stay.”

Going forward, Robertson will be looking to get some opportunities in the Celtic first team, much like his teammates Rocco Vata and Ben Summers.

Ange Postecoglou has not been afraid to give youngsters a chance in his time in Glasgow so far and Robertson will be hoping the Australian will give him his opportunity soon.
