Celtic are set to play Livingston on Saturday afternoon at Parkhead and after all that’s gone Callum McGregor admitted this week the club had banned the huddle from taking place.

At the behest of the backroom medical team, Celtic were told NOT to take part in the pre-match huddle for the Hibs game and Callum isn’t confident we’ll see a return for the famous Celtic staple against Livingston.

“The club decided not to do the normal Huddle given the spotlight that was on us at that time.” McGregor told CelticTV.

“Our Covid guy, the physio and Tim Williamson asked us to do that. We just try to show and do the right things as much as possible.

“For the Livingston match I will just take the directive from the club again. I will see what we can do and then take it from there. It’s their decision.”

Celtic had still been doing it this season before the Dubai trip but considering what’s happened it was shelved and rightfully so.

Some fans might see it as no big deal but there have been some famous huddles over the years which has geared the bhoys towards major success.

Scott Brown’s famous cup final huddle where you can see what he’s mouthing — whatever we do, we win this’ can be viewed online with a swear word or two thrown in.

It’s up to Callum and the more senior players to help the young players through the game today. Had it not been for a late equaliser from some poor defending, Celtic would have managed a win against some pretty big odds.

Livingston are on a great run of form and will fancy their chances today.
