The International Federation of Football History & Statistics have released the top 400 most successful clubs in the world over the past year and Celtic sit in a lofty 5th!
Liverpool topped the list with Barcelona, Manchester City and Flamengo just in front of Celtic in the rankings.
IFFHS wrote: ‘Celtic FC registered their best ranking since 1991 at place 5.’
The rankings are based on results both domestically and in European football which is no wonder Liverpool top the list. Celtic being so high in the rankings is not to be sniffed at.
The bhoys have won three trebles on the bounce and ended 2019 winning the League Cup for a fourth consecutive time. Not only that but they topped their Europa League group with two wins over high flying Lazio.
With 2020 underway and more trophies to play for as well as a Europa League run, it’s an exciting time to be a Celtic fans.
