New youth coach Damien Duff has quashed any rumours his new gaffer is ready to jump ship to join Premier League club Leicester after he was asked his thoughts on the speculation.

Duff has just signed on at Celtic Park and is a massive Hoops fan. The Irishman never got the chance to play for the club during his playing career but is delighted to come in as a coach.

It was Brendan Rodgers who made the move to bring Damien in. Both men were at Chelsea at the same time when Rodgers was a coach and Duff played for the former Premier League champions.

Asked if there was any chance of seeing Brendan in the Premier League sooner rather than later, Duff was straight to the point.

“Brendan’s an amazing manager and a top man and long may he stay.” he told The Daily Record.

“Celtic is his dream club as well. The club are lucky to have him but when I speak to him he seems so happy.”

Rodgers has won every single domestic trophy opened to him since coming into the club and he’s looking at a potential treble, treble this season if he can negotiate another successful league and Scottish Cup campaign.
