Celtic are reportedly keeping a close eye on summer transfer target and Derby County fullback Lee Buchanan.

The young left-back was suggested as a possible target for Ange Postecoglou’s side during the previous window – which saw the former Socceroos boss bring 12 new players to the club during one of the most extensive rebuilds in recent history.

As reported by the72 and according to Sun Sports journalist Alan Nixon – although he might not be one of the 12 picked up in the summer, there is a chance Celtic could make another move for the 20-year old as the Hoops continue to keep tabs on him.

With Deby County’s recent financial problems, Buchanan has gone on to make himself a regular feature in Wayne Rooney’s side this campaign.

If Celtic were to make a move for the youngster, it could be an interesting call that both the player and his club must complete due to those current financial issues.

Hoops scout Mick Doherty has kept a close eye on Buchanan’s development, being sent to watch him in Championship action last week.

With the left-back spot being far from the ideal place under Postecoglou, it will be intriguing to see if we try to rectify that by bringing in another option in the January window.
