CELTIC defender Kolo Toure has been offered a new coaching role at Celtic that would see him hang up his boots and help Brendan Rodgers behind the scenes, much like he did last season.

Although, while the chance to be part of Brendan Rodgers backroom staff is appealing to the double invincible he’s still mulling over his future and more importantly, if he’s ready to hang up his boots.

His game time at Celtic was limited this season but he did play a pivotal part in Celtic’s first 5-1 Glasgow derby win at the start of the season before Jozo Simunovic got back to full fitness.

Brendan Rodgers knows Kolo is worth a lot to Celtic off the field and will endeavour to keep the big man here for next term.

“Guys like Kolo are very, very important, not just for changing rooms, but for clubs. Players like that retain the values of a club and they understand the levels expected and the pressures, and they can help in that perspective.” the Irishman admitted.
