Former Celtic boss Ronny Deila has opened up about Peter Lawwell and what he experienced during his time at the club.

The Norwegian spoke exclusively to CeltisAreHere.com this week where he told us his Celtic connection helped him sign former Parkhead man Efrain Juarez, his thoughts on Brendan Rodgers leaving and praised John Kennedy.

Ronny is currently in pre-season with his club Valerenga with their season kicking off at the end of the month.

When talking about his former Chief Executive, Ronny was full of praise for Peter Lawwell. The former Celtic gaffer likening the club to a well-oiled machine and Celtic are lucky to have him.

“Peter Lawwell is an unbelievably good leader. The job Peter does for the club is very important and the consistency he brings in the role is also great for the club.” he told CeltsAreHere.

“Even though Brendan had left, I knew Celtic would be in good hands with Peter.

“The Celtic fans should be praising him, he has the club very well organised and keeps control of the clubs spending, you just have to look at the last ten years with Rangers to know he’s doing a good job.

“The club is like a machine”.

Ronny spent two seasons at Celtic before Lawwell let the manager know his contract would not be renewed in the summer of 2016.

During his time at the club, the manager gave a chance to Kieran Tierney and Callum McGregor which has ultimately seen them grow and become integral parts of the team.
