Neil Lennon has confirmed there have been NO bids for John McGinn outwith the three Celtic have lodged for the midfielder.

There was speculation that at least two clubs in England had lodged bids for the Scottish international but Neil Lennon admitted it was only Celtic who have shown any real interest to this point.

The former Celtic boss can’t believe there hasn’t been more interest and compares the situation to Virgil van Dijk.

“The only bids we’ve had have been from Celtic and I’d be amazed if we don’t get more offers in.

“He was outstanding again – he’s at the peak of his powers at the moment.

“It’s a bit like the Van Dijk situation at Celtic – I couldn’t understand why nobody took a punt on him.”

Celtic have bid £2million for McGinn whose contract only has one year to go.

The club are wary of paying too much for the midfielder considering they could wait until January to sign him up on a pre-contract.
