Former Celtic loan player Mubarak Wakaso has won the Chinese Super League with Jiangsu Suning five years after his spell in Glasgow.

The Ghanaian spent a short spell at the club under Ronny Deila but never really made his mark at the club, only making six appearances. He came in with a lot of excitement, with the fans buzzing.

He had pace to burn but when it came to making his deal permanent, the two parties went their separate way.

The midfielder has had a lot of clubs during his career; Panathinaikos, Villareal, Espanyol and Rubin Kazan to name just a few.

Wakaso joined Jiangsu Suning back in January and has helped them to this achievement.

When he joined Celtic, Ronny Deila was very positive about the winger:

“It looks like he could become a fans’ favourite at Celtic. Our fans like quick players, players who can go past people and who have energy. Wakaso had that in his game.”

But it just never worked out.

There were plenty of flops through the door during the Deila era. Other players like Carlton Cole, Colin Kazim-Richards
