Celtic’s latest unveiling of their Origins top appears to have not struck the chord they might have hoped for with their fan base.

Despite a massive promotional push on social media, with 10 tweets including retweets since its release 36 hours ago, the reaction among supporters suggests the new collection has not captured the mood or imagination as intended. In fact, the push of the new collection has been considered over the top by many.

The club’s attempt to celebrate its heritage with the Origins top comes at a time when fans have already made significant financial commitments to supporting the team through the purchase of training gear, home, away, and third tops, along with a special anniversary kit commemorating the Hoops. Not to mention the Adidas trainers that were throughout out and the actual costs of watching Celtic every other week.

This latest addition to the merchandise roster seems to be a step too far for many, particularly amid concerns over how the club is reinvesting revenue generated from such sales back into the playing squad.

  1. No wonder this board of charlatans feel invincible and don’t care about helping Brendan by strengthening the squad, biscuit tin project players, because they know the gullible Celtic faithful through and through will keep filling their pockets, wake up Celtic fans we need to get rid of liewell and desmond and we ain’t going to do it whilst still pumping all our money into the club .Big liewell and golf heed desmond must be rubbing their hands with glee.

  2. If the products were discounted then you could argue a reason for this. But it stinks of shameless explotation our supporters especially in a time of financial concerns

  3. I doubt Celtic have a say in this. It’ll be part of the contract with Adidas.

While I agree it appears completely tone deaf, the bastards have just gone and produced one of the most beautiful Celtic tops I’ve seen in years!!!!
