Rumours about Celtic’s interest in Kelly emerged unexpectedly, with many fans not expecting Celtic to chase the Motherwell ‘keeper this summer.

Celtic’s manager Brendan Rodgers has indicated the need to bolster the goalkeeper position, potentially adding two new goalkeepers ahead of the upcoming season. This need is driven by Joe Hart’s impending retirement and ongoing speculation surrounding Benji Siegrist’s future at the club.

The search for new goalkeeping talent has linked Celtic with several names across Europe. However, despite the wide net cast by these rumors, Celtic will not be moving forward with a bid for Liam Kelly.

Kelly, 28, has spent time with Livingston and Queen’s Park Rangers before his stint at Motherwell.

As Celtic looks to the future, the focus remains on finding the right fit for their goalkeeping needs as they prepare for life after Hart.
