According to Sky Sports, Celtic helped set a new SPFL record in Sunday’s Glasgow derby as more than 1.4m viewers tuned in to watch the colossal clash.

Such a figure is the highest that has been seen for a Scottish League match since the formation of the SPFL over a decade ago in 2013.

The game that broke the record was quite the spectacle. Celtic took an early lead through Daizen Maeda before Matt O’Riley’s spot-kick put them 2-0 up at the break.

Rangers soon hit back and drew level but Adam Idah struck late on to score what looked like it could have been the winner.

In the dying embers of stoppage time, however, Rabbi Matondo sealed a point for the Gers to leave things as they were before the match regarding the title race.

Currently, the Hoops lead the way but their rivals have a game in hand on Wednesday. Taste victory in Dundee and they will be ahead by two points going into the final six league games of the campaign.

Win all of them, though, and Celtic will be champions of Scotland for the third time running.
