Julian Araujo has sparked fresh debate among Celtic supporters after changing his Instagram profile back to Bournemouth.
Supporters noticed that Araujo’s profile picture has now been switched back to a Bournemouth image, while the club is also listed in his Instagram bio. It may be nothing more than a player returning his social media to his parent club after a loan spell, but it has still caught attention given the uncertainty around his next move.

Araujo joined Celtic to provide depth and competition on the right side of defence, but his spell in Glasgow never fully developed into a settled run. Alistair Johnston’s injury issues opened the door at different points, yet Celtic still had to shuffle the position at times, with Auston Trusty even filling in there when required.
That says plenty about how awkward the right-back situation became.
Araujo had useful moments, but he did not make himself an automatic pick. With Johnston now back fit and expected to be a major part of Celtic’s plans, any decision to bring Araujo back would likely depend on price, wages and whether the club feel they need another specialist option in that area.
The Instagram change has left some fans wondering if a return is now unlikely, either permanently or on loan.

Still, it is easy to see why supporters have picked up on it. Loan players often make these changes when their spell ends, and unless talks are ongoing behind the scenes, Araujo now appears to be publicly back in Bournemouth colours.
For Celtic, the focus will be on building a squad that gives Johnston proper support without blocking Colby Donovan’s pathway.
