Celtic, along with a host of other clubs, are keeping tabs on prolific young Irish striker Patrick Casey, according to Football Insider.

The centre-forward, who plies his trade for English League One outfit Charlton Athletic, has been scouted regularly by the Hoops, Brighton, Union Saint-Gilloise, and Club Brugge. He is in high demand not just at club level, but on the international stage, too.

Ireland-born Casey is wanted by England, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland. Currently, his allegiance lies towards the latter having been named in a June 2023 training camp for the under-19s.

The 18-year-old has a tremendous scoring record. For Charlton’s youth teams last season, he bagged a colossal 42 goals and in 2023/24 so far, his tally lies at 31 in all competitions.

Young Casey is supposedly one of the best prospects to come through at The Valley in recent years. He made his debut for the Addicks’ first team on New Year’s Day at home Oxford United.

His contract with Charlton runs until the summer of 2026 so a fee would be involved if the Celts were to get their hands on the talented teenage striker in the summer. Whether they do so remains to be seen, but Casey likely wouldn’t be an addition who immediately comes in and challenges for a place in the first team.
