CELTIC haven’t been vocal on any of the channels they have open to them to speak to their fans.

They have not taken the opportunity during Celtic Pass broadcasts or any of their social media platforms to address the unrest and the way forward for the club beyond this poor season.

Their current actions or in-action is putting into doubt season ticket renewals. There’s a swathe of supporters out there who are ready to pull their hard-earned cash from the club. Not because we’ve lost the league but because of the silence and the lack of accountability.

The frustration in the club saying nothing while Neil Lennon takes press conferences telling people he’s shocked at criticism levied at him compounds the problem.

While the club’s channels are quiet on discontent, they are getting their ducks in a row quietly behind the scenes and preparing for renewals falling.

One of our readers who is on the waiting list which they signed up to last season got an email in this afternoon asking him to make sure his details were up to date and if there were any changes that need to be made.

This says to me the club are expecting a drop off in renewals, and instead of addressing the discontent and trying to get those fans back on board, they’re surveying the scene for a potential uptake from their waiting list.

It’s going to be a hard sell. We don’t know when we’ll be back in the stadium and the virtual pass, while better than nothing, has been underwhelming, especially for the price.

Renewals are 6-8 weeks away from coming out, a lot can happen in that time. Will the club come up with something palatable for the supporters to get behind and renew in these tough financial times?
