OLIVER ABILDGAARD has had a tough start to life at Celtic and was tipped to have his spell at the club cut short. However, after a few games excluded from the squad, he’s made it back to the bench.

8th October 2022; McDiarmid Park, Perth, Scotland; Scottish premier league football, St Johnstone versus Celtic: Giorgos Oliver Abildgaard celebrates towards the fans after Giorgos Giakoumakis makes it 2-1 to Celtic in the 95th minute of the match

He’s not made a start in green and white, and Postecoglou was eyeing up a more significant role for the player after the World Cup break, but that’s not been the case as of yet.

But, despite his lack of involvement, interest in the player is quite high, with clubs from his homeland keeping tabs on the player. There are some Danish clubs interested, but the player isn’t looking for a move back to his homeland. [B.T.]

The midfielder’s contract is quite confusing, and all parties involved would have to reach an agreement to terminate it early if a move is to take place before the summer.

It’s been hard for him at Celtic and is unlucky more than anything. Despite Callum McGregor’s injury, Ablidgaard has been unable to break into the Celtic team, but the midfield is one of the Hoops’ strongest areas, and it is hard to get a spot in. When he’s appeared from the bench, he’s looked not bad but hasn’t been able to convince Ange to sward him a start.
