Celtic’s new signing and incoming summer transfer Maryan Shved has spoken about the sudden departure of Brendan Rodgers from Celtic.

The midfielder who scored a hat-trick at the weekend for Karpaty Lviv in the Ukranian league has spoken out after hearing the Irishman’s dramatic exit on Tuesday.

“He must believe he is taking a step forward by moving to a very good club like Leicester City. I will meet with the new coach when I get to Glasgow in the summer.” Shved told SunSport.

“It does not affect me in any way.

“I spoke to Brendan Rodgers, he is a good person and I wish him luck in his new job.

“He even spoke with me in Spanish. I got the impression he rated me highly.

“It’s impossible for me to say if it’s good or bad he has left Celtic because I never worked with him.

“Nothing changes for me.”

Rodgers left Celtic high and dry through the backdoor of Celtic Park on Tuesday without a second thought with Neil Lennon coming in to pick up the pieces.

When Shved was signed for Celtic it was Rodgers who bemoaned they had ‘millions of wingers’ and didn’t need another one before he backtracked on another press conference.

Shved will be one of the first players to come into the club after the Rodgers era who will have not worked with the Leicester boss.

The player will be looking to come in for whoever is the manager and make a big impression when he finally makes the switch to Glasgow.
