EBOUE KOUASSI is still a Genk player at this moment in time and if he has anything to do with it, he might be going forward.

The Celtic midfielder left the club on loan in January in search of first team football. After a year out of the game through injury, Kouassi had been building himself up at Genk before the shutdown curtailed his comeback.

Signed by Brendan Rodgers and overlooked by Neil Lennon since his return to fitness – the player’s Celtic career looks all but over. However, the uncertainty over what happens next with the coronavirus outbreak means Kouassi is again powerless.

If you ask the player, he thinks he’s done well to this point and is hopeful Genk keep him at the club to get game time. At this moment, Eboue has only had three starts for the club.

“I have been focussed on my loan at Genk and I hope to be able to play for them when this is over.” he told SUNSPORT

“I don’t want people thinking this hasn’t been a successful loan move just because I haven’t played too many games.

“I don’t see this as a failure…quite the opposite.

“When I joined Genk, I was not physically ready, but once I got fit, the manager showed he had faith in me and played me as soon as he could.

“If it wasn’t for the coronavirus, I would still be in the team.

“So I don’t see it as a failed loan – I view it as a success.”

Celtic have their own loan players at the moment who are due back to their clubs in the summer. Eboue would be due back at Celtic Park at the end of May, there’s still no clarity on what will go on between these sorts of deals if the season can be ended on the field.
