Celtic have released previously unseen footage from Ibrox, giving supporters a fresh look at one of the most dramatic afternoons of the season.

From the pitchside angle, the tension, the pressure and the eventual release of emotion all hit differently. It is one thing watching a derby unfold from the main broadcast feed, but quite another seeing it from Celtic’s own viewpoint, right on top of the action as Martin O’Neill’s side battled their way into the Scottish Cup semi-finals.

The game itself was not a classic from a Celtic attacking point of view, but that only made the outcome feel bigger. Over 120 minutes at Ibrox, Celtic had to dig in. Rangers carried more threat for long spells and finished with far more attempts on goal, while Celtic’s afternoon became a test of discipline and nerve.

There were still moments where it felt like the tie could swing Celtic’s way before penalties. Daizen Maeda had the ball in the net in the first half, only for the goal to be ruled out after a VAR check for offside in the build-up.

From there, the match became about survival as much as control, with Celtic holding firm under pressure and refusing to give Rangers the breakthrough they were chasing.

That made the shootout all the more satisfying from a Celtic perspective.

When the tie went to penalties, Celtic were flawless. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Auston Trusty, Reo Hatate and Tomas Cvancara all converted, while Rangers missed twice.

Cvancara applied the finishing touch, sending Celtic through and sparking wild celebrations in the Broomloan end. It was a moment of composure after an afternoon that demanded plenty of grit.

Celtic’s own angle puts you right on top of it. You catch the noise at pitch level, the little reactions that television misses, and then the release when the winning penalty goes in.

There is also something in seeing it through the club’s lens after a result like that. Celtic were not slick at Ibrox, but they were dogged, organised and brave. The footage reflects that. It shows a side digging in and sticking together.
