Celtic are still yet to find out who their final opponent will be in the Sydney Super Cup after one of the support act teams withdrew from the tournament which will see Ange Postecoglou return to his homeland. 

It has been revealed that Serie A Champions, AC Milan have held discussions over making the trip to Australia [Glasgow Live].

Two teams who are already confirmed to take part in the tournament are A-League duo Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers.

The tournament sparked controversy amongst fans of the league challengers in Scotland last year as they accused the organisers of the tournament of failing to fulfil commitments made which came after strong fan pressure to withdraw from the tournament.

Sources told CeltsAreHere the organisers of the Sydney Cup were also keen on Inter Milan and held talks with the Italian giants.

It will be a welcome sight to see Ange take his Hoops team to Australia to participate in a tournament which has been dubbed as Postecoglou’s ‘homecoming’.

Presently, there is also rumours around Premier League side Everton but whoever ends up as the fourth team, the tournament will provide decent opposition for Hoops player not at the World Cup in a warm climate that will be marked as the preparation for the second-part of the season.
