MARK WILSON has told the Celtic Huddle Podcast that Celtic will be losing out ‘massively’ if Scott Brown has indeed signalled his intention to leave the club at the end of this season.

Reports overnight put Scott Brown on a trajectory to Pittodrie where he’s being touted as Stephen Glass’s right hand man in a new Dons set up which has been confirmed by BBC.

However, some Celtic fans have their reservations about the captain leaving the club in a year when they might need him more than ever.

Mark Wilson clearly subscribes to that theory and believes his former Hoops teammate can be the facilitator between the new and old guard next season.

Wilson explained:”I think Celtic are losing out massively here, if Scott does decide in the next 48 hours to go to Aberdeen

“For all the stick Scott Brown’s got this year, and I think he would admit himself he’s not been at his best, but he’s by no means one of the worst performers in this side.

“When you look at the underachievers in the side, you could probably rhyme off a half dozen, even more that have been poorer than him.

“Scott has carried that team for so many years, and he’s had a bit of an off season, where he could have done with some people helping him. On Sunday, in big games, this season again voted man of the match.

“He’s still a player who can help the new players, the new manager settle into the club. It will be a big loss”

With Glass now installed as the Aberdeen coach with no sign of his coaching staff just yet, it could be a matter of hours or days before we find out what happens next.

Nobody will have any ill-feelings towards Broony if he believes his interests are best served elsewhere after 14 trophy-laden years at the club but it will be a sad day when the curtain comes down officially.
