JACK HENDRY has refused to rule out a return to Scotland even though there have been reports his Belgian loan club want to activate their first option on the defender.

Hendry, back in Glasgow for international duty was put in front of the media this afternoon and inevitably his future beyond this season came up.

The on-loan Celtic defender refused to be drawn into speculation or even say if he would entertain a permanent move to Belgium.

Instead, he dodged the question and gave a stock answer.

CeltsAreHere Verdict

It’s crazy to think had Hendry stuck around this season he would have probably had some meaningful game time. Has he grown enough in Belgium to warrant a second look? I think he has. However, that second look should happen swiftly so we and the player knows where they stand.

Hendry has constantly been in the Belgium League team of the week and has earned rave reviews. Quite simply put, if he wasn’t a Celtic player already, many people would be clamouring for the defender to be signed by the club on current form.

Oostende have the first option but they don’t automatically get the player, it will be up to Hendry and he’ll be keen to listen to what any new manager has to say.
