Celtic are in the market for a right-back this summer, after losing Frimpong and El Hamed last season which left the club with no first-team right-back. Celtic then loaned in Jonjoe Kenny for the second half of the season, but the cries for Ralston to start over the Evertonian demonstrates how unsuccessful his six months in Glasgow were.
This summer window, Celtic have been linked to many defensive targets, in particular, French and Rennes duo Brandon Soppy and Sacha Boey. Both young full-backs had been closely linked to Celtic but it was reported by Fabrizio Romano that talks had opened between the Glasgow side and Soppy. The trail has now ent cold though with both featuring in games for Rennes.
Celtic are interested in signing Brandon Soppy from Rennes [19, huge talent] as new left back. Talks opened – but there are also French clubs in the race. ?? #Celtic #Rennes #transfers

Today, reports from France indicate that Boey is on his way to Turkish club Galatasaray and could complete a move as early as this weekend. Galatasaray were thumped 5-1 by PSV in the Champions League qualifying round this week, with the winner of this tie taking on the winner of Celtic and Midtjylland.
