There has been calls for Celtic to modernise and our new CEO who doesn’t officially takeover until the start of next month has talked up the idea of pulling Celtic forward.

We are a fantastic brand with a worldwide fan base but the people in charge of our club are not doing our brand justice.

There are so many ways to innovate and bring in fresh revenue streams to the club going forward.

One way which has been touted in the past is a membership scheme.

There are large clubs who deploy this kind of scheme to include supporters who want to feel part of their club but who are in other parts of the world.

It also facilitates fans who can’t attend every game but can get to some and enjoy perks along the way.

A Celtic fan brought the Bayern Munich membership scheme up as an example. They offer perks like access to a secondary ticket market, discounts on various things throughout the season and a welcome package.

Boasting nearly 300k members, it’s a genuine money spinner for the German club.

Celtic SLO, John Paul Taylor has confirmed Celtic have been looking at this for some time.

The only scheme the club have right now is the kid’s young huddle membership. It’s not really up to much at all, and the biggest perk is the kids being balloted to head to an autograph session.

Celtic need to exhaust all revenue sources and give supporters bang for their buck. To make the membership scheme palatable, a secondary ticket market where season ticket holders can put their tickets up for sale is a must for the membership scheme to be viable.

We hope Dom McKay is in favour of the scheme and implements something over the next year or two.

  1. Selling season tickets is going to be a challenge. Only a fool would hand them 500-600 quid considering the way the supporters have been treated. A boycott is necessary to highlight to wealthy individuals who may be interested in getting involved that the present lot are on borrowed time. If the Tory scum had any decency they would resign en masse and leave the job to people who care about the club. For them to even suggest that they have provided a decent service and value added over the past year is an insult. Stop giving them money, stop buying their tat and paying through the nose for a downsized Team and Club. Stand up.

  2. There’s a time & a place for everything. I’d suggest rolling this out at a time when the club have pissed off pretty much the entire support isn’t the best of ideas. If we really want to increase revenue try taking Champions League qualification seriously? That’d be a start!

    • Seeing as we don’t get enough away tickets to go round as it is and STH take up leaves only 7000 home match tickets available i cant see what benefits a membership scheme would have for a Celtic fan.
Any scheme just now will meet with failure.. a bit like the boards performance in the last )3 years
