Celtic star, Callum McGregor urged the squad that they all must stick together and show unity, to try to get back to their best once again.

As quoted by STV, speaking after last nights impressive 3-2 win against Lille which gave Neil Lennon’s side their first three points of the group stage, McGregor sticking together is what the club’s principles were built on, so we must do this now to try and turn it around.

“I just want everyone to be together.

“That is the message. This club has been built on so much success by the principles of sticking together.

“Everyone in the building wants the same thing, everyone outside the building wants the same thing.

“So this is the moment when we stick together and trust the process and we go and really try and turn it around.”

The midfielder was stand-in captain last night for Scott Brown who was moved to the bench for other players such as Ismaila Soro to have a chance in the team, who impressed in the end.

McGregor didn’t have the greatest start to the game giving the ball away that resulted in the French sides first goal. However, he showed a lot of guts to bounce back and take the penalty that gave us the lead again.

It was a much-improved performance last night but from here we need to see more of that because we know this squad is capable of that, so sticking together is imperative.
