Celtic star Ryan Christie says he will rewatch Kevin De Bruyne’s masterclass against Scotland at Hampden on Monday night with the Belgian in scintillating form against the hapless Scots.

Belgium steamrolled Stevie Clarke’s side with a 4-0 victory at Hampden to further compound the former Killie’s boss dismal start as Scotland boss.

Ryan Christie is looking at the positives and promises to learn from the defeat. The Celtic attacking midfielder vowed to watch the game back and analyse De Bruyne as he aspires to be as good as the Manchester City star.

“He’s a frightening player to be honest. You could see it out there.” Christie told SunSport.

“It’s nice for me to play against him because he plays in a similar position to me.

“It’s important to watch the positions he picks up and the damage he can do on the ball, even when he has two or three men around him. That’s something you have to aspire to and try to be as good as these guys.”

Christie has had a fantastic start to his season with Celtic but the disappointment of international duty will have brought the player back down to earth.

Hopefully he and the other Scottish bhoys will have learned from their experience.

There will be no time to dwell for Christie, McGregor, Forrest and Taylor as they get set to take on Hamilton on Saturday and hopefully continue Celtic’s top start to the season.
