It’s the big question the fans and media alike are discussing before the cup final on Sunday.

Will Neil Lennon start Scott Brown?

The question was put to the panel of Murdo MacLeod and Hugh Keevins, with the veteran Superscoreboard pundit also unsure of where even he stands on the issue.

Keevins spoke like he can’t see a cup final team without Scott Brown in it and put the current Celtic captain in the same category as the late Billy McNeill.

However, his thinking was twinged with a bit of; does Neil Lennon have the bottle to leave his captain out of a cup final. Hugh even bringing up the infamous time Scott Brown once threatened to throw him in Loch Lomond not long after Brown had made the move to Celtic

“I cannot get around the Scott Brown question at the moment” Hugh told the Huddle Podcast.

“For me, he’s been the best captain since Billy McNeill, and I don’t say that lightly.

“Is Neil Lennon actually going to start the match without Scott Brown?

“I don’t say that because Scott once threatened to throw me in Loch Lomond, but for Paul Hartley, they might have seen it.

“I think it’s the one question which will be in Neil Lennon’s mind until Sunday”

Neil Lennon hinted he was ready to give Scott his shot at maybe one more cup final before using him more sparingly going forward. The logical person in me thinks it’s a bad idea but the sentimental Celtic fan in me would love to see Scott Brown captain our side to victory.

I don’t event Neil Lennon’s decision but I think the manager will have fewer reservations than me and many of the supporters about bringing his captain on in front of Ismaila Soro for the tie against Hearts.

We can only hope the Celtic captain digs deep and helps us to victory, he’s done it plenty of times before.
