JOHN KENNEDY has tipped breakout Celtic star David Turnbull to be a hit at this summer’s Euros – if he makes it into Steve Clarke’s squad.

The midfielder has been a standout for the Celtic since making the breakthrough and his goal against Aberdeen was yet another example of what he brings to the table. Goals and assists come naturally to this lad and he’s only going to get better.

Speaking about Turnbull’s form and his potential Scotland inclusion, John Kennedy is in no doubt David is ready for the call.

“I wouldn’t rule it out. Steve will have a lot of decisions to make with his squad.” Kennedy told SunSport.

“Maybe he will be loyal to the guys that got him there.

“But David is doing everything he can in terms of performances to ask the question.

“That’s all he can do but ultimately it’s Steve’s choice and decision.

“From a selfish point of view, we just worry about him doing well for us and Daviid has been great.

“He has amazing technical ability and he really works hard at his game.

“David has been terrific for us. His goal was a piece of brilliance and we are delighted with him.”

Scotland made it to the Euros, ending over 20 years without being at a major tournament.

Scotland have options in the midfield but Steve Clarke would be mad to ignore Turnbull and what he can bring to the table. Surely the midfielder is on a trajectory to join up with his country this summer.

All eyes will be on Steve Clarke in the coming months to see who exactly he’s going to trust for the tournament.
