MARK WILSON likes to break exclusives on his Huddle podcast from time to time.

The former Celtic star hosts the podcast alongside other former Celt’s and prominent journalists in the media.

On Tuesday afternoon, Wilson claimed an exclusive that Celtic are looking to sign Charlie Wyke.

The 28-year-old striker is out of contract in the summer and has gained a lot of admirers; scoring 25 goals in 41 appearances in League One.

The Sunderland frontman has been prolific for his team but has refused to nail down his future beyond this season at present.

Wilson revealed the striker is on a list of potential signings for the bhoys in the summer.

Not every player we sign is going to be a first team walk on and whoever comes in will need a mixture of outstanding starters and effective squad players.

Speaking on the Huddle podcast, former Celtic striker Scott McDonald wasn’t so sure about the move.

“Charlie started at Middlesbrough. He was a young boy coming through when I first signed under Gordon Strachan.

“He’s got a pedigree in the lower leagues,”

“Whether or not that crosses over to Celtic, I’m not quite sure he would be a number one pick.

“But he’s very robust, a Lyndon Dykes type, and one of the best players in League One. I’m not sure if that’s a Celtic signing.”

If Celtic were to try and land the frontman, wages wouldn’t be an issue. Charlie is currently on £6kpw at the Stadium of light according to SalaraySport.
