Sky Sports has finally caught up with us with regards to Celtic target Omar Colley and his inevitable exit from Sampdoria. We told you two weeks ago, the man Celtic coveted in the summer has been bombed out of the Italian side’s first team and is now weighing up his options.

Celtic were very interested in the centre-back during the summer window but were rebuffed and told that the player would only leave if a club triggered his release clause which sits at £10.8m. Too rich for Celtic’s blood and they moved on swiftly.

Sky Sports man Anthony Joseph hs told his followers it’s increasingly likely the defender could leave the club in January for a lesser price than was quoted this summer.

It’s no secret Celtic’s defence has been all over the place and the club must remedy this as soon as possible. If Omar was a big target, there’s every chance they go back in for him in January. Given Celtic’s financials, we don’t see them spending big at all in January unless they offload one or two. Could some underperformers be heading out the door to accommodate change at Celtic Park?

The January window is never the ideal time to go into the market in a bid to save the season but if club’s do their homework, deals can be done for the betterment of the team.

It remains to be seen who will be in charge come 2021. Neil Lennon is playing on a game by game basis at the moment. If he manages to get this team playing in the next few weeks, he could spearhead a revival.

Omar could be part of this, but could we see Duffy shipped back to Brighton or Ajer sold to make way for someone new?
