Celtic travel to Dundee this weekend in the first of their post-split fixtures in the Scottish Premiership.

This season, the Dee have been quietly impressing. Being the newly promoted side in the division, next to no one expected the club to be in the top six after the split.

Tony Docherty, though, has done an incredible job at Dens’ Park and will be looking to boost his and his side’s credentials with a result when the Bhoys come to town this weekend.

Having recently drew 0-0 with Rangers at home, Dundee are a well-organised side who can prove a force going forward.

The game on Sunday will in no way be straight-forward for the Celts and they will have to earn the right to win.

Indeed, former Hoops right-back and now pundit Mark Wilson has warned his old team ahead of a game that he thinks won’t be plain-sailing.

The 39-year-old also outlined his opinion that both Celtic and Rangers will drop points between now and the end of the season.

He said: [Clyde 1 Superscoreboard] “I don’t think anybody in Dundee associated with the club were ever dreaming of having a European place.

“Of course when it’s in front of them, they’ll want to take it but it’s a different pressure that’s on them so that makes them a dangerous opponent for Celtic.

“I don’t think Sunday will be as straightforward for both teams (Celtic and Rangers) as everybody thinks.

“I think there’s still points to be dropped.”
