A Celtic XI is set to take on Lowland League side Caledonia Braves a week on Tuesday in a friendly fixture.

As quoted by the Daily Record, Braves manager Ricky Waddell confirmed that his side hopes to have a friendly against the Hoops lined up on the 6th of July.

“It’s not confirmed yet, but we play Celtic on the Tuesday night of the next week, and then St Mirren, who will probably have a reserve squad out on Saturday

“It’s all looking good.”

While the fixture is still to be officially confirmed as going ahead, it is unclear what sort of Celtic side will be put out for this friendly.

With the report stating that it will be a Celtic XI, there won’t be many familiar faces, especially considering the first team are heading for a pre-season camp in Wales soon and face their first friendly against Sheffield Wednesday, the day after this one on the 7th of July.

It will be a good opportunity for several young players who will feature for the Celtic B side this season. Caledonia Braves are among the teams they will take on in their first regular league season in the fifth tier of Scottish Football.
