After Celtic’s interim reports were published last week, some have taken a deep dive into the clubs finances on social media.
The Hoops find themselves to be in a very strong place at the moment as revenue has increased by £23.6 million from £52.9 million which is a huge increase.
Something picked up on by Twitter user [@KieranMaguire] is that the club generated more money from matchday income from fewer games in 2022 as 2021 was impacted by Covid and there was also Champions League football.
Celtic appear to have also benefitted from a business interruption insurance claim to the tune of £10 million which is a great boost to the finances as their league rivals appear to have only been able to claim around £1 million [@SwissRamble].
In recent weeks Michael Beale has done a lot of talking about how ‘lucky’ Celtic are and about the volume of money which the club have spent but the fact of the matter is that it is down to being prudent and running the football club properly as Celtic appear to have benefitted off business interruption insurance much better than their Glasgow rivals.
