Celtic have gone about trimming their squad in the off season so far. A lot of young players who haven’t made the grade have been moved on, we all know Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton have left the building and Vasilis Barkas has managed to get a loan move away.

It’s freed up space and money in the wage budget, but there’s one man currently on the higher end of the Celtic pay scale Ange Postecoglou would really love to move on before the end of the transfer window — Albian Ajeti.

The Swiss striker has struggled for game time under Ange and if we’re all honest, he’s not done enough to warrant a place in the side or his large wage packer.

SalaraySport have Albian sitting on around £18kpw, that’s just under £1m a season — huge money Celtic could put elsewhere if the forward was to get a move.

Right now, there’s been no hint or whisper Ajeti is going to get a move away. Given the striker’s dismissed status and his decent sized wage, many clubs can’t justify making a move for the former West Ham man.

I’d be surprised to see the player move away on a permanent deal unless Celtic manage to cut a deal with the player to move on. Other than that, the Bhoys could be looking at another Barkas type loan deal where they are still paying some of his wages but the bulk is covered by the loan club.

Ajeti has been on a downward trajectory ever since leaving Basel where he once tore it up. There’s a player there who could fit into another club, sadly that club isn’t Celtic.

Kyogo, GIakoumakis and Maeda are all in front of Ajeti — and for good reason.
