AMY Gallagher has been on fine form as Celtic picked up maximum points from their opening run of games in August.
Gallagher’s goal-scoring form has seen her crowned the SWPL Player of the Month for August. She netted in every game last month, scoring an astounding 6 goals in just 4 games. It’s not just her goalscoring form that’s been impressive, she’s also set up her teammates on five occasions.
Personal accolades aside, Gallagher’s contribution to Celtic Women’s historic first Champions League victory.
Celtic’s form this season has been nothing short of phenomenal. Picking up maximum points in their opening games, they’ve showcased dominance, resilience, and flair in equal measure. With Gallagher leading the charge up front with Kit Loferski, defenders across the league are undoubtedly having sleepless nights.
Reacting to the award, the Celtic forward credited her teammates and the Celtic staff. She said: [Celtic FC]
“Yeah, I am obviously really happy to win this award.
“I am thankful to the staff and my team-mates for their part to play in me winning it. So I’m just really happy.
“As a striker, my main objective when I play is that I want to score goals and create chances for my team-mates.
“I have managed to do that the past five games, so I’m really happy.”
“I like being in different positions on the pitch to score goals. But I think my main thing as a striker this season is to be in the box to score.
“I think most of my goals have come from there, so I’m very happy.
“Everyone is really confident just now and obviously that is showing on the pitch.
“We are creating chances and scoring goals and we are all playing together really well!”
Amy Gallagher and the squad are preparing for their final of round 1 of qualifying on Saturday against Valerenga.
