Celtic season ticket holders will NOT be getting letters through their doors in April from the club.

That’s the word from Celtic FC Slo, John Paul Taylor who confirmed there were no immediate plans afoot to get the renewal campaign underway.

Typically, renewals have gone out as early as the beginning of April but more regularly in the middle to late April.

It looks like the can is being kicked down the road a little because of the complexity of what Celtic will have to offer.

A discount is a must after a whole season of the season pass and no clear route back for fans at present. There are positive signs that some supporters will get through the turnstiles as early as July for qualifiers but the club can’t make promises.

The terms and conditions of our season tickets were changed so the club didn’t have to offer a refund if we didn’t get back into stadiums this season. The club is not legally obligated to reward the Celtic fans or refund them but they have a moral obligation to offer something substantial.

That’s where I believe the hold up is now. Celtic know they can offer out all home games to season ticket holders on the Celtic Pass next term, they will be building a package that walks the line between much-needed income for the club and not rinsing the supporters like this season.

The manager not being selected yet is also of great concern. The longer Celtic leave it, the less time they have to secure peoples renewals and if fans are mulling it over to see where the club is heading, they could lose out on major revenue.

Time is of the essence.
