CELTIC have yet to spend any serious money since the departure of Moussa Dembele for a club record fee, Stuart Armstrong for around £8million and a whole coaching staff team to Leicester for around £7million.

This means there’s money in the pot for a big player should one come along worth bringing to the club. Timothy Castagne intimated the club had put £8m down on the table for him in January so there’s 100% money there.

However, are the club reluctant to spend that money with the current Champions League situation? If Celtic go a second year without Champions League football then the aforementioned money comes more important for the running of the club rather than transfer priorities.

With that in mind, are Celtic secretly pondering over one of their most valuable assets after he misfired a lot of last season. Back last summer, it was reported the club received a £14m bid for his services but Brendan Rodgers dismissed Porto’s advances at the time.

We’re now a year down the line with Ntcham signing a new deal shortly after this interest was made public. There’s no doubt Ntcham is a strong and talented player when he is on top of his game but many times last season he was a passenger and that will be in the back of the minds of not only Neil Lennon but the Celtic board.

With a report claiming Marseille and Porto are now interested in him this could leave the door open for Celtic to land the £14million they rejected last season.

According to RecordSport, the Portuguese club had a scout in attendance to watch Ntcham for France Under 21s on Monday evening. Ntcham got the last 15 minutes of France’s win over Belgium. Watch this space.

  1. They money earned from player sales, ain’t Celtic’s money, that’s shareholders money ,for hotel and museum and they might have some left to deal with boys club involvements , the penny tray is where we deal for players hopping to sell for profit as you all know we are a shareholder club ,supported by a fan base ,and they will demand dividends

    • Lord mac. If u bothered to read the annual accounts only £0.5m was paid to shareholders in 2018 , and of that many shareholders took new shares instead of taking the cash.
As the people who injected £millions into the club to finance the new stadium and player purchases years ago they are fully entitled to this relatively small dividend.
      Please check your facts first.
