LEEDS UNITED are set to rekindle their interest in Celtic striker Anthony Stokes.

The 26-year-old former Arsenal trainee may find himself further down the pecking order this season with Nadir Ciftci coming in and Leeds look to offer him a way out of Celtic Park with regular first team football.

Stokes rarely played up-front for Celtic last season, the manager choosing to play him wide off a central striker. With better attacking options and the news Celtic still want another attacker, it might be time for Anthony to move on.

The Irishman has been at Celtic since 2010 after signing from Hibernian and has been a good servant to Celtic but he has not been without his critics. His most potent partnership was alongside Gary Hooper who left for England 2 seasons ago.

Anthony has already played down south with Sunderland and he could now be set for Elland Road and a have a crack at the Championship where Leeds are looking to be promoted.
