CHRIS SUTTON has been left stunned with Monday night’s Celtic transfer development.
Many Celtic supporters including Chris have been left bemused by the news the club are ready to let go of their second best striker for such a paltry fee to Japanese side Urawa Red.
Since Fabrizio Romano put out the news Celtic are working on a deal that would see Giakoumakis leave Glasgow before the window, there has been an outcry as to why the fee would be so low.
Chris rightly asks what is going on behind the scenes and why the club would even entertain that kind of fee for a player still very much involved in the first team.
The BT Sport pundit also rightly states that there is a league title to be won and unless you’re getting top dollar for a first team player, you shouldn’t be touching the deal.
I’m not sure what goes on behind the scenes and who maybe coming in the door but this seems bonkers letting Giakoumakis go right now for such a small fee… there’s a league to win! https://t.co/VQLhrk1ARg

Celtic fans always knew there was likely going to be outgoings, but given the talent of the players and the long contracts they’re on, we don’t expect the club to be low balled.
What feels worse about any potential Giakoumakis exit is the fact we don’t appear to have a firm replacement lined up.
Our options become more limited if we aren’t getting a decent fee for the Greek frontman.
