Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has highlighted James Forrest as the standout in Celtic’s 2-1 win over Dundee this afternoon at Dens Park.

Forrest was certainly at the very top of his game with two goals against Tony Docherty’s side, with Sutton also speaking highly of Docherty’s work in Tayside this season post-match.

Sutton is spot on; the win was not convincing, but ultimately Celtic cannot be too picky over results.

At times, they have not seen out games, and today they did manage to.

At the end of the season, the performance against Dundee will not be thought of.

But the three points will, and with every game being a cup final, as the old cliché goes, it’s not about how you win a cup final as long as you win.

With next weekend against Hearts giving Celtic yet another opportunity to gain three points.

Undoubtedly, Forrest has found his form at the right time of the season, and if other players in the starting 11 can do the same, it will put Celtic in good stead.

But one thing is clear: the title race is by no means over, and every game will gain greater significance as we approach.
