CHRIS SUTTON came out in defence of Neil Lennon last night after a Celtic fan was giving Neil Lennon pelters even though the Irishman safely won the first qualifying tie 5-2 against Sarajevo on aggregate.

The account which has since been deactivated was giving Neil Lennon a hard time on Wednesday night but Chris Sutton leapt to the defence of his old teammate after the unfair criticism.

Disgruntled with the lack of transfers, the fans rant over Neil Lennon was quickly quashed.

Celtic need to strengthen in a number of areas and unlike the last two years, it seems as if the manager is aware they need to do so. Celtic are closing in on a centre back who will likely play backup to Jullien, Jozo and Ajer to add depth while Danny Simpson could be coming on trial with a view to signing for the club this summer. It’s not doom and gloom, some fans are too quick to judge.
