FORMER CELTIC STRIKER turned media pundit, Chris Sutton believes Celtic cannot trust their number one goalkeeper Craig Gordon on the big nights at Celtic Park.
The outspoken Englishman never is one to mince his words and he believes Celtic’s reliance on the Scotland Goalkeeper will see the team suffer on the big stage. Speaking to the CQN Podcast he did not mince his words:
“I don’t trust him in the big games. His kicking has been an accident waiting to happen.
“It happened against St Johnstone but it’s been coming. But Brendan looks like he’s going to stick with him, he has confidence in him but we all have our opinions.
“In the big games, I suggest he has come up short too often. We saw it against England.”
Chris did go onto say he has a lot of respect for Craig and the resilience he’s shown in his football career.
“I’ve got a lot of respect for him for the way that he came back from serious injury.
“I just think that in big games, nothing has changed my mind on that.

Chris Sutton is a self publicist dick. Gordon was at fault for England’s equaliser but players in all positions make errors and Scotland on the whole played like scared wee boys that day. Gordon is the best keeper and shot stopper in Scotland and the best goalie since Boruc and Kerr.
He is’nt the complete package as a Goolie, a good shot stopper, takes too many chances, as Big Chris said. What a time to bring it up Chris. If we get an offer for Graig take it. A don’t know who would we get too replace him Hail Hail Big Chris
I agree with big Chris it’s not just his kicking that worries me but the fact that he won’t come for a cross ball either.As for the England game Gordon wasn’t the only Celtic player who messed up Stuart Armstrong should have put the ball as far up the park as possible instead of giving it away school boy stuff
Chris Sutton has too much to say at times and as the previous guy said is a self publicist, always looking to be controversial. I understand Gordon is a bit shaky and suspect at times , and he now reminds of packiie bonnet and is prone to making the same kind of mistakes but he’s the best we’ve got and calls for the youth keeper Hazard to take over in the first team are just complete nonesense from people who shout their mouths off without even thinking first,
it mus be a burden being perfect, and not supporting someone who has made a mistake shows a lack of intelligence, ive pulled my hair out watching craig gordons kicking of the ball at times but ive also watched him making saes that I don’t know how he managed to,see swings and roundabouts for me,oh and he plays for us and in Brendan I trust.
Sutton should just keep his mouth shut he was never perfect himself no matter what position a player plays instead of running them down b4 big games Chris get a new job as people aren,t interested in ur opinion ya nob
Agree with Chris entirely, his passing!!!!! from the goal area is a joke, at least 3 times every game he passes to the opposition which then creates havoc in the defence. Surely Brendan must see how bad he is at the passing thing!!!!. It is Brendan who wants him to do this and he must see the many mistakes that Gordon is making in every game by trying to pass the ball out of defence.
Gordon is not comfortable passing the ball, so stop doing it or get a goalkeeper that can do it properly.!!!! Gordon gets away with it in our league but champion’s league is a much different game where you get punished severely for mistakes.
Listen to yourselves having a go at Chris . When he’s having a pop at the Huns he’s a great guy , but when he calls it as he sees it with regards to Celtic and in this case it’s a bit of criticism then some people go off their nut. He probably not too far off the mark , Gordon is a good keeper and great value for being a free transfer , but we should be looking for an upgrade along with a Centre half . Big Sutton loves Celtic and if he’s having a go then it’s with the best of intentions

I agree with Chris,but we should be looking for better and not just the goalie,we are where we are and maybe Chris picked an inappropriate moment to remark on the goalkeeper position.???
Sounds like there are a few sevconians on here and quite a few people who can’t handle the truth.
So we are not allowed to express our opinion.How many of the supporters tonight have the thought that Gordon could drop a clanger or do you think he will be fantastic ?.
Do any of the supporters believe that big Chris would do anything to harm Celtic ? I don’t….short memories………
