CHRIS SUTTON has had his say on social media on a day where Celtic crept closer to nine in a row.

It was St Johnstone vs The Rangers at McDermid Park while the champions hosted Kilmarnock at Celtic Park. After their Euro exploits, both clubs were back to business in the SPFL.

The early kick-off in Perth gave The Rangers a rare opportunity to close the gap before the bhoys played their game. In the end, the Ibrox club had to settle for a share of the points and temporarily cut the deficit to nine points.

Just before St Johnstone equalised, Celtic conceded a penalty to Kilmarnock and there was a brief moment where Celtic were losing 1-0 and The Rangers were winning.

By the time those buses from Perth back to Glasgow reached their destination, the inevitable outcome of the Celtic game will no doubt give their support a familiar sinking feeling.

Sutton had two big points to make on the day: Edouard and Griffiths being the difference since the winter break and Steven Gerrard throwing his player under the bus.

The BT Pundit hailed the Celtic duo while describing Gerrard’s decision to go after one of his own players as ‘remarkable.
