Ange Postecoglou doesn’t seem to have plans for Chris Jullien in the Celtic squad, despite the defender wishing to stay and fight for his place in the team.

Celtic will entertain offers this summer if their player’s valuation is met. There is said to be interest from the defender’s native land, but there have been no formal approaches as of yet.

After returning from the horrific injury that saw him sidelined for fourteen months, he’s barely had a sniff. His only first-team appearance had come against Raith Rovers when he came on from off the bench, playing ten or so minutes.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Sky Sport’s Anthony Joesph suggested that Celtic has an asking price for the defender and would entertain it if an offer was received.

“If a French club – and I know there’s some interest in France for him – were to put in a bid of maybe £3million or £4million, I think Celtic would listen to that, definitely.”

Celtic will be lucky to receive a fee as high as this, the defender has barely kicked a ball in two years and has just one year left on his contract.

Celtic Can’t Sell Jullien Yet.

Celtic can’t afford to sell Chris Jullien yet, however tempting it may be.

Seling Jullien leaves the Celtic defence extremely vulnerable, with only Stephen Welsh able to offer backup.

Until Celtic sign a defender capable of providing cover to the defence, they should hang on to the Frenchman in case of a nightmare injury crisis.
