Ross County chairman, Roy MacGregor has said that he is confident that fans will be allowed in for next weekend’s clash against the Scottish Champions.

The Highland club have said they are just waiting to be given the go-ahead in order to allow around 500 fans in the Global Energy Stadium.

This game is expected to be one of three trial events to take place next week.

As reported Ross-Shire Journal, speaking on BBC Radio Scotland, MacGregor announced the plans for the game against Celtic, which are expected to go-ahead.

“It hasn’t been officially announced. Everything from our end is there to make it happen and we’re waiting for the final nod.

I think we’ve got to be realistic, it will be a test event. We would rather between 300 and 500, something that we could work with and test out to trial.

Everything is on paper at the moment, we need to make sure it works from the car park to the seats in the stands”

The first sporting event to take place with fans in attendance took place last week at Murrayfield, where around 700 were allowed to attend.

The Hoops were also hoping to have a similar test event, the same weekend as the Rugby, when they faced Motherwell but it was turned down, which left the club disappointed after all the planning that had taken place.

It has not been announced as of yet, which games will be hosting the other two trial events on the weekend of the 12th or September, but Rangers fixture against Dundee United isn’t expected to because of the new restrictions within Greater Glasgow.
